The National Forestry Agency's mission is: "The good governance of forests at the national level, their preservation and development, the sustainable and multifunctional use of resources in the national forest fund, as a natural asset of national importance".
It has the role of an authority that guarantees the performance and efficiency of the forest sector, provides standards and methodologies for the activities and operations of the sector, engages stakeholders and strengthens coordination/cooperation between them. Creates a suitable system for gathering information and transferring knowledge.
KPA is a public, budgetary institution, depending on the ministry responsible for forests (currently MTM); Responsible for ensuring performance and standards related to the national forest fund. It has the status of a state legal entity, which is financed from the state budget.
